FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Everything here reflects how the workshop is intended to work — no fine print surprises. If your question is missing, ask in the chat or send an enquiry and a person will answer it.

Assessment, Quotes & Deposits

Why are there no fixed prices on the website?

The price depends on the vehicle size, current paint and body condition, repair scope, dismantling, colour and finish. Photos help us begin, but a written quotation is prepared after the vehicle and requested work have been assessed.

How do I request a quotation?

Send your vehicle make, model and year, photos of the whole vehicle and affected areas, and the colour or finish you want. Use WhatsApp, the enquiry form or site chat. We assess the scope and send a written quotation for you to accept, request changes to or decline.

How does the deposit work?

If a deposit is required, the exact amount in MYR is written on your quotation. Nothing is payable simply for sending an enquiry. Payment instructions are shared only after you accept the quotation, and the booking is confirmed once the required deposit is received.

Can you quote from photos alone?

Photos are useful for an initial review, but reflections, hidden damage, corrosion and previous repairs are not always visible in a photo. The final scope is confirmed after a physical assessment before work begins.

Respray & Preparation

Do I need a full respray or only a panel respray?

That depends on the condition and colour consistency of the surrounding panels, the location of the damage and the finish you expect. We assess the whole visible area and explain the practical options before quoting.

What preparation may be included?

Preparation can include cleaning, dismantling of agreed exterior items, sanding, correction of surface defects, repair work and masking. The exact steps depend on the vehicle and are itemised or described in the quotation rather than assumed from a generic package.

How long will the work take?

Timing depends on the repair and preparation needed, vehicle size, colour process, curing and workshop schedule. Your estimated completion timing is confirmed with the quotation and updated if assessment reveals additional work.

Colour & Finish

Can you change my vehicle to a completely different colour?

Yes, subject to assessment. A proper colour-change discussion includes visible exterior panels, edges and jambs, required dismantling and whether engine-bay or hidden areas are in scope. These choices materially affect the work and quotation.

Will a colour look exactly like the image on my phone?

Not necessarily. Screens, photography and lighting can change how colour, metallic flake and pearl appear. Website images are inspiration only; the final direction should be confirmed with an appropriate physical sample or agreed reference under real light.

Do you offer metallic, pearl or two-tone finishes?

They can be discussed as custom colour directions. Availability, preparation, colour layers and final finish must be confirmed for the exact vehicle before they are included in a quotation.

Body & Panel Repair

Can scratches, dents and bumper damage be repaired?

CARART assesses scratches, dents, bumper damage and accident-related panel work before refinishing. The method depends on material, shape, previous repairs and damage severity; photos help, but the final repair method follows inspection.

What happens if hidden damage is found?

If preparation reveals corrosion, filler, cracking or damage outside the accepted scope, we explain the finding and any change in cost or timing before additional work proceeds.

Handover & Aftercare

What happens at handover?

The agreed work and visible finish are checked before handover. We also explain initial care relevant to fresh paint. If you notice a concern, contact us promptly with clear photos so the vehicle and finish can be assessed.

When can I wash or polish fresh paint?

Follow the job-specific guidance provided at handover because paint systems and repair scopes can differ. Avoid aggressive chemicals, automatic brushes and unapproved polishing until the team confirms the appropriate care period.
